obert Ffrench** (born January 5, 1962) is a celebrated Jamaican reggae singer and record producer, recognized for his extensive contributions to the genre since the late 1970s. A cousin of #Rocksteady legend #PatKelly, Ffrench grew up in central Kingston and attended #Kingston College. He began his musical journey at just 17, recording his first singles in 1979.

Ffrench rose to prominence in 1984 with standout performances at the Festival Song Contest and the Reggae Sunsplash festival. His career gained further traction with the hit collaboration "Bun & Cheese" alongside deejay Clement Irie. His first two albums, released in 1985, established him as a formidable artist. In 1989, he scored another hit with "Modern Girl," a duet with Courtney Melody.

In the mid-1990s, Ffrench relocated to New York City, where he collaborated with rapper Heavy D on the track "More Love," followed by an album on Ras Records featuring notable artists like Lady G and General Degree. After returning to Jamaica, he founded the Ffrench record label and distribution company, later co-establishing the Sing Jock label with Horace Davis. In 2001, he released *Yesterday and Today*, an album compiling many of his earlier singles.

After a hiatus from recording, #RobertFfrench made a comeback in 2009 with the single "I Do." As a producer, he has been instrumental in shaping the careers of reggae icons, producing Buju Banton's debut single "The Ruler" and working with legends like Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, George Nooks, Luciano, Jah Cure, and Sizzla.

With a career spanning decades, Robert Ffrench continues to be a vital force in reggae, blending his rich musical heritage with a forward-thinking approach to the industry.
