Where is Winstons located?
1921 Bacon St. in Ocean Beach (San Diego), CA 92107. One block west of the sand between Sunset Cliffs Blvd and Santa Monica Avenue.
What are your hours?
The bar opens daily at 1pm. Happy hour is all day until 6pm. Most events (open mic, comedy, trivia, etc) begin at 6pm, with the live bands starting at 9:30pm. Our doors close no later than 2am nightly.
What kind of music do you have?
We have an eclectic mix of bands and artists that grace the Winstons stage. The music is generally Jam / Rock / Reggae / Alternative / Hip Hop / EDM / Bluegrass / Americana / Comedy / Experimental, and of course, Awesome.
What’s the cover charge?
Some nights are FREE, but cover charges vary depending on the bands. Please check our website for pricing.
How old do I have to be to get in?
State law requires anyone that enters have a valid ID stating he / she is 21+. The one and only exception is for contracted band members who are 18+. He / she may play with their band, then immediately exit the building after the set.
Where can I park?
Winstons is surrounded by paid parking lots that charge about $5. There is ample street parking on all adjacent streets. Please be aware of signs for street sweeping and towing notifications posted in the neighborhood.
Is re-entry allowed after I enter the building?
Yes, but be sure to get a stamp from the security staff prior to exiting or you will have to pay the cover charge to get back in.
How does ticketing work?
Tickets for most of our shows are sold at the door, night of. We do have an in-house box office. We sell advance tickets online for most the national touring bands. Check the individual show listing for ticket links. If there isn’t one, tickets will only be sold at the door.
I heard shows at Winstons are never really “sold out” prior to show time. How can that be?
We put a limit on the number of tickets sold online to allow people to walk up and buy tickets the night of a show.
Is there a dress code?
We are a beach bar and want you to be as comfortable as can be, but please, no backpacks, skateboards, chains, weapons, bandanas or gang affiliated / offensive hate wear.
What is your capacity?
Winstons’ legal capacity is 220.
May I bring a camera?
We allow regular point and shoot cameras only. Professional cameras (larger than your hand and / or with a detachable lense) are not allowed into the venue unless you have a photo pass approved by the headlining band. Occasionally, bands do not allow any cameras at all, especially flash. If this is the case, our security staff will ask you to bring the camera back to your vehicle.
I lost something at Winstons. How do I contact the venue?
