Puttin’ their own stank on American music Mercedes Moore Band is a tribute to the ghetto soul, greasy blues and RnB of the 1950’s and ’60’s. Vocal influences range from the universally popular Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight to lesser known yet equally soulful artists such as Barbara Lynn, Sugar Pie DeSanto and Ruby Johnson. The raw and passionate guitar style of Scot Smart is infused with mid-century west side Chicago blues. His playing is at once thoughtful and unbridled bringing a unique sound to each performance!
