Based out of San Diego, California, the beginnings of what is now Stone Horse happened one fine summer day, after a chance meeting at Windansea Beach in 2009 when singer Danielle Spade joined up with guitar player and old friend Carlos Rodriguez. Influenced by the British and American rockers of the 70’s, the La Jolla High Alumni decided to put their musical heads together and create what later became known as Stone Horse in December 2012. The co founders wrote songs reminiscent of their early 70’s British and American influences. A catchy, driving 10-song CD entitled “GRIT” ensued which was released in February of 2014.
GRIT was nominated "Best Rock Album" in 2014 by The San Diego Music Awards, and their southern rocker ballad "Remember When" received a nomination in 2015 by The Indie Music Channel and was in the top 3 nomination for Global Eye Best Song by The Colorado Rock Awards held in Denver, CO in September 2016.
Not unlike the neighborhoods that make up their city, the band's second full-length studio release, "Nobody Rides For Free”, is a musical melting pot blending influences of Blues, Rock and even a bit o' Country twang! However, doing what they do best at the end of the day, the result was good old rock n roll! Their first single "Look What I've Done" was released as a music video in April 2016. The album was released in the fall of 2016.
Currently, Stone Horse continues to play live and is working on a third album due out in 2018. For updates and concert info go to www.stonehorsemusic.com.
