Shakedown String Band
With so many musical elements within one sound, a fitting description may be: soul and bluegrass meets americana rock on acoustic instruments, with an emphasis on musicianship and storytelling. Notable influences come from the Grateful Dead, The Wood Brothers, and Railroad Earth. Hang around after a show and you’ll hear comments on the tight groove, vocal harmonies, and relentless raw energy on stage. Since its inception in 2017, Shakedown have logged 120+ local shows in San Diego. What started as a duo project of acoustic guitar and upright bass quickly evolved with the addition of harmonica, banjo, drums, percussion, mandolin, electric guitar, and a female vocalist. Whether a duo or a 9-piece, Shakedown proves once again that size doesn’t matter.
